Welcome to the Office of Ombuds at Washington University, a resource for faculty members with appointments on the Danforth Campus. We offer assistance in the informal resolution of campus related conflicts, we advocate for fair treatment and process, and we follow four distinctive principles:

Professors Susan Appleton and Jim Davis, the initial appointees to this office, are each available to talk with any Danforth Campus colleagues who seek a safe place to discuss concerns about the University, its policies, or its procedures. We seek to understand such concerns, answer questions, and consider options, including possible referral to other offices or resources.
